A new energy model for low cycle fatigue (LCF) life prediction was derived from the laws of entropy conservation and energy conservation.Based on this model, an investigation of cumulative damage was also accomplished.By low cycle fatigue experiment of 316L steel under stress control at 420℃, the prediction of fatigue life and residual life was carried out by the new energy model and the principle of linear accumulation damage based on this model.The predicted results were compared with the experimental data, a good agreement is noted between the predicted and experimental results.
