Analysis on Distribution Property of an International Air Transport Network

According to the huge data from International Air Passenger Transport Database, we construct an International Air Transport Network (IATN), which concludes 153 vertices denoting different countries (regions), and many edges denoting international routes between countries. We analyze the complexity of this network through several standard indices: Average Distance, Clustering Coefficient, and Power Law Distribution. Specially, we illustrate the distribution property of the network degree, under undirected edges, directed edges, and different node strength. We prove that all the results have Power Law Distribution, which means that the distribution of degree in IATN is inhomogeneous. Thus, IANT is a scale-free network.
