SUNFLOWER METHYL ESTER AS A FUEL FOR AUTOMOBILE DIESEL ENGINES

This article presents the results of an investigation carried out in an automobile diesel engine running on sunflower oil methyl ester (SME), pure and mixed with diesel fuel. Engine test bench studies have been carried out, with the aim of obtaining comparative measures of torque, power, specific fuel consumption, and emission of pollutants, to evaluate and compare the behavior of a diesel engine running on SME or SME with diesel fuel.
