An application framework for ontology-based data mining

A General Data Mining System Framework (GDMF) model is presented. The aim of GDMF is to abstract the core functions from data mining applications and put them into a reusable and extensible prototype system, so that the data mining application system can be built rapidly. The ontology is used as a semantic data model in GDMF. With ontology-driven data mining query language, the users are able to express more complex queries in a comfortable style. Finally, the method for using GDMF as a modeling tool to design a data mining system is given.
