On single carrier MIMO time domain equalization for Gbits high frequency band

A simple time domain equalization approach is proposed for high frequency band MIMO frequency selective channels. The proposed method takes advantage of the simplified decision feedback equalizer (DFE) only including the feedback filter and successive interference cancellation to deal with the intersymbol interference (ISI) and co-channel interference (CCI). Furthermore, we specially design the frame structure suitable for the time domain correlation channel estimation and time domain equalization (TDE) and build up the corresponding Simulink simulation platforms. The simulation results of the bit error rate (BER) performances demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves slightly better performance than the frequency domain MMSE equalization under certain channel conditions. More importantly, its complexity is lower than that of the latter. Finally, we discover that different simulink platforms implying different space-time structures have a great impact on the BER performance of the proposed method for two transmit and two receive antennas.
