System And Method For Real-Time Traffic Information Service Using Vehicle

PURPOSE: A real time traffic information service system is provided to monitor traffic information based on a vehicle position and running information in real time by estimating position and running information of a vehicle from a vehicle station and transferring estimated information to a central information center. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle station(20) installed at a vehicle and estimates position and running information of the vehicle to transmit the estimated information to a mobile communication network. The vehicle station receives a real time traffic information service including optimum running information and displays the received information to a driver. A central information center(10) analyzes vehicle position and running information transmitted from the vehicle station to construct and manage real time traffic information. The central information center provides the real time traffic information to a mobile communication network or a call center(15) according to request of the vehicle station.
