Computational Biosignal Processing : A Case Study Approach

In biomedical signal processing, the aim is to extract clinically, biochemically or pharmaceutically relevant information (e.g metabolite concentrations in the brain) in terms of parameters out of low-quality measurements in order to enable an improved medical diagnosis. Five case studies in different biomedical areas are introduced. For each topic, the applied computational techniques - making use of advanced linear algebra, optimisation, signal processing, and system identification - are described. (6 pages)
