La entropía aproximada como una nueva metodología para la detección de eventos dentro de un sistema dinámico híbrido The approximate entropy as a new methodology for the detection of events inside a hybrid dynamic system

The occurrence of events within hybrid dynamic system (HyDS) may be due to many causes. Also, such events may be controllable or uncontrollable (wanted or unwanted), which in turn could cause imbalances and / or disorder in the system, leading to catastrophic failure. Therefore, the observation of all events generated in the system is paramount, but the problem is to detect, since there is no reliable method to detect them. For these reasons, this paper's main objective is to study and apply an innovative method to detect certain events (such as faults, start and/or shutdowns of plant, setpoints changes, among other) in a HyDS. This approach is based on the calculation of an Approximate Entropy value of the system, and its potential uses are illustrated computationally by means of Matlab® using as case of study a Boost converter.
