Analytical models and experimental studies of centrifugal-pump performance in two-phase flow. [PWR]

The existing two-phase flow data for centrifugal pumps are reviewed. A short survey of previous work on the modelling of two-phase pump flow is made. There are few models which attempt to cover the two-phase range from fully liquid to fully gaseous flow, and none has been found to predict the flow even in the first quadrant of operation with acceptable accuracy. A new method of modelling the two-phase performance of pumps is developed and applied to existing data.
