Finite Element Analysis of Intake Transition Steel Lining of a Hydropower Project

In this paper the finite element method is adopted to analyze the stress and displacement of the penstock located on the downstream dam surface of a hydropower station.The results obtained in the analysis provides basis for design of penstock.Through the analysis both stress and displacement between the penstock and the dam can be attained.And some measures have been put forward to ensure the connection strength between the penstock and the dam.
