Abstract The transverse vibration of a beam with intermediate point constraints subject to a moving load is analyzed by using the Euler beam theory and the assumed mode method. The point constraints in the form of supports are assumed to be linear springs of large stiffness. Results of numerical simulations are presented for various combinations of constant axial velocity of the moving load and number of point constraints.
