Application of formal concept analysis to evaluate environmental databases

The application of Hasse diagrams for comparative evaluation may be useful. One drawback, however, is that sometimes the Hasse diagrams consists of several parts, which are not connected. In such cases the interpretation becomes troublesome or even impossible. With the example of environmental databases on CD-ROM it is shown how lattice theory helps in such cases. It can be exemplified that a specific data structure leads to the disintegration.
