LEITURA: DECODIFICAÇÃO OU OBTENÇÃO DO SENTIDO?

The aim of this study is to make a comparison and a parallel between the theoretical approach that gives importance to code in the process of reading learning (alphabetic, syllabic, phonic methods and others) and the theoretical approach that gives importance to previous meanings built by the reader (global, analytic and synthetic methods and constructivist and sociointeractionist philosophies). We made use of several texts of the authors of this theoretical approach comparing their thoughts in relation to several points. This study intends to provide a critic reflection about the effectiveness of the way children learn and the way they receive instructions about acquisition and development of reading, once data have shown a major number of them are presenting difficulty in this learning.
