Integrating existing event-based distributed applications

The ability to reuse components is an economic necessity with software development projects. However, often such components must be adapted in some manner before they can be used. As the amount of adaptation increases, the economic beneet of reusing the component is decreased. In order to reduce the cost of manually adapting software for reuse when integrating existing applications, we turn to automatic techniques for transforming the abstract speciications into valid implementations. This paper describes an approach to integrating an event-based distributed application from existing applications.
