Neuropsychological Pediatric Rehabilitation

The child is not a miniature adult. Decades after Piaget proved this elementary yet revolutionary discovery, many areas of medicine still struggle to view the child as a singular, unique patient with needs and problems that are specific to the stages of development long ago surpassed by the adult. Highly significant differences, not only from neuroanatomical and neurophysiological perspectives, but familial, social, and cultural as well, contribute to the fundamental need for treating the child within a global perspective that encompasses the elements essential to this specialized focus.
