Investigation on extended black-start schemes of power system considering reasonable load restoration

The extended black-start strategy is new exploration for black-start restoration of power systems. Considering the great cranking power provided by the black-start source and the system characteristics of black-start stage in the extended black-start process, load restoration is incorporated into the optimization of the extended black-start schemes. By adding a load restoration function in the objective function set, a new restoration strategy coordinating the unit restoration with load restoration is proposed to establish the extended black-start multi-objective optimization model. In the established model, the weighted generating power output and the weighted load power restored are maximized under steady-state and transient system operation constraints. A hybrid algorithm combing lexicographic method with improved bacterial foraging algorithm is employed to solve the model. The test results on the New England 10-unit 39-bus system verify the validity and rationality of the proposed method.
