Google: Its Impact on the Library

Purpose – Aims to provide a comparison of a search results and relevancy ranking via Google Search, Google Scholar and InfoTrack Database.Design/methodology/approach – A summary of the results from each search engine is compared.Findings – This article provides an brief overview of impact of Google services on traditional library services.Originality/value – This paper is useful for information management professionals who seek greater understanding of how the Google service compared with an aggregated subscription database.
