From COURSEWRITER to APL to ???

One of the advantages of small size is presumably the ability to rapidly shift position as the need becomes apparent -- and, in the field of computer-assisted instruction, to evolve flexibly with the state-of-the-art without being burdened by the inertia of long-established and deeply entrenched prior practice. If this is true, then Simon Fraser's CAI effort, certainly one of the smaller ones in terms of people, would seem to be exploiting its size to the utmost.
