Studies on chemical constituents of Leonurus japonicus

Objective To isolate and elucidate the structures of the constituents from Leonurus japonicus Houtt.Methods The compounds were isolated by chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column and NMR were employed for structure identification.Results Five compounds were obtained and elucidated as 5,7,3′,4′,5′-pentamethoxy flavone(Ⅰ),wogonin(Ⅱ),apigenin-7-O-glucopyranoside(Ⅲ),daidzein(Ⅳ),quercetin(Ⅴ).Conclusions Compound Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ are isolated from Leonurus for the first time,ⅣandⅤ are isolated from Leonurus japonicus Houtt for the first time.
