An innovative BESS management for dynamic frequency restoration

In a future scenario within is simple foreseen a huge rise in the renewable energy production and, in the other hand, a traditional energy production curtailment, the role of the energy storage system will be increasingly important in order to guarantee the network frequency stability. In fact, in current network operation mode, traditional energy resources have a critical role in maintaining stability. Therefore, the integration of dynamic elements, distributed over the network, becomes mandatory to safeguarding the appropriate flexibility and stability. The present work proposes an original model for the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) management to provide ancillary services in the Power Systems. In detail, an intelligent and innovative methodology for BESS control and regulation is designed in order to ensure the network frequency stability and then the energy restoring.
