A Study of Pedestrian Injuries in Car-Pedestrian Collision Accident

This paper combined multi-body dynamics method with pedestrian injury analysis to reconstruct a real car-pedestrian collision accident exactly and analyzed the dynamic response and injuries of pedestrian in the course of collision.The reconstructed results are in accord with the actual accident situation and the (forensic) medical identification of pedestrian body,effectively prove the accurateness of the simulation methods and models.Based on those results,the relationship between pedestrian's head and leg injuries and car impact velocity was studied which can provide references for improving cars' pedestrian safety.
