According to ECE R94 and GB 11551-2003, the full front impact simulation against rigid barrier of double-decker coach at the speed of 50km/h is carried out using LS-DYNA, so as to study the deformation characteristics and crash safety in front impact accidents. Based on the comparison of deformation, energy-absorbed, and injure indicators of test dummies before and after structure improved, we offered improvement program by strengthen its front wall and adding compression buffer device, which can effectively reduce occupant injury in a frontal collision, and provides basis technology for the passive safety improvement of double-decker coach.
