Security analysis and improvement of a block cipher with dynamic S-boxes based on tent map

In this paper, a thorough analysis of a block cipher with dynamic S-boxes based on tent map is made, which reveals the existence of some serious design and security problems. The large number of weak keys is discovered, and the problem with diffusion property is indicated. Two chosen plaintext attacks that exploit the weaknesses in the design of block cipher are presented. Improved version of the analyzed cryptosystem is proposed, which can eliminate the perceived shortcomings.
