A hybrid 2-40 GHz high power distributed amplifier using an active splitter and combined drain line configuration

The authors present details of a distributed amplifier design which, through the use of semi-monolithic thin film processing techniques is able to utilise many of the suggested improvements and, by the use of a novel design in the input stage, is able to give superior performance of 10.5 dB gain and in excess of 17 dBm output power at the 1 dB compression point over the 2-40 GHz frequency band.
