Comparative Performance of A New Thornless Rose Rootstock with Few Scion Cultivars

A new Thornless rootstock was included in a rootstock trial along with Rosa multiflora and R. indica and these were used for budding 3 scion cultivars namely ‘Happiness’, ‘Super Star’ and ‘Queen Elizabeth’. Between the rootstocks, most cf the parameters did not show any significant differences. Amongst the cultivars ‘Happiness’ produced larger flowers. The rootstock scion interaction was observed on the size (diameter) of flower. The largest flowers were obtained when ‘Happiness’ was budded on either ‘Thornless’ or R. multiflora.
