Noise Characterization of Linear Twoports in Terms of Invariant Parameters

A new representation of noisy twoports in terms of parameters invariant under Iossless transformation is proposed. This representation is especially advantageous when the terminals of the intrinsic device are not directly accessible. A method of determining noise parameters in a transmission line system using a calibrated slide-screw tuner is discussed. Experimental results are presented.
