Elevator Hybrid System Modeling and Simulation Based on Cellular Automata

Elevator system is a typical hybrid systems. It’s the key of elevator system modeling to analyze the discrete variable and continuous variable. Cellular automata theory can connect the two kinds of variable and build an elevator system model effectively. Hybrid system-cellular automata model simulates the moving behaviors of elevator. Assignment sequence module controls elevator movement. This model is simply structured and easy to modify. The MATLAB simulation program operates correctly and gives satisfied performance. The proposed modeling method also can be applied to other hybrid systems.
