The influence of voltage variations on estimated load parameters

A voltage step is generally used as the "initiating" disturbance in tests and simulations related to load model development. The common practice is also to assume the voltage as an ideal step change, and then apply model identification and a parameter estimation algorithm. The voltage step however will not be an ideal one in real life, nor will the voltage of the load bus be constant following the step. This paper addresses the influence of voltage variations on the estimation of the load model parameters. Three different load models are compared. Sensitivities of load model parameters of different load models to voltage variation are observed.
