Isogeometric analysis of surface elasticity: a comparison with isoparametric FEM

We report here on the isogeometric treatment of surface-elastic effects and compare the results obtained from Finite Element simulations and Isogeometric Analysis. As expected, the latter delivers smoother solutions than a standard finite element approach. (© 2015 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
