Short and light timber house steel portal frame

A short and light timber house steel portal frame system includes a frame body, a top beam and cleadings, wherein the frame body is connected with the top beam; the cleadings are arranged outside the frame body, and connected onto the frame body and the top beam through superposing surfaces; corner connectors are arranged at joints of the frame body and the top beam. Compared with the prior art, the short and light timber house steel portal frame system has the following advantages: results have shown that the initial rigidity of the steel portal frame is usually lower than that of a knee wall; with respect to the ultimate capacity, the ultimate horizontal bearing capacity of a non-pressure type steel plate portal frame with unilateral cleadings is equal to that of a knee wall 2.44 m in height; the horizontal bearing capacity of the pressure-type steel plate portal frame is normally and approximately equal to the bearing capacity of a non-pressure type steel plate knee wall 4.88 m in height; the ductility ratio of the steel portal frame can be compared favorably with a knee wall, and the energy absorption performance of the steel portal frame is superior to that of the knee wall; in respect to strength and energy absorption, the steel portal frame structure can be constructed feasibly to substitute a knee wall with a certain height.
