Angular uncertainties due to geometry and spatial resolution in Compton cameras

The authors investigate the effects of spatial resolution and relative orientation of detectors on the accuracy of the directional localization in two-detector Compton cameras. They derive a general expression that relates the angular uncertainty to spatial resolution and geometry. Appropriate expressions for specific configurations are obtained as special cases of the general expression. Finally, the authors present a simple formula for estimating the position uncertainty of Compton cameras in terms of relative spatial resolution and distances.
