Undervoltage Load Shedding to Avoid Voltage Instability Considering Dynamic Load Model

This paper presented an analytical basis and criterion for undervoltage load shedding (UVLS) in power systems. By using a dynamic load model, the amount of load to be shed at given voltage is computed fast. If the voltage is unstable, the proposed UVLS can be used to calculate the amount of load which must be shed. The relationship between load parameters and load shedding time is also explored. The effect of load shedding time on voltage stability is considered too.
