Excellent characteristics and benefit of IGCC power plant for environment protection

In order to reducing the environment pollution caused by coal-fired power plant,the development of clean coal power generation technolgy(such as IGCC) is attached importance to by the electric power industry.The characteristics and advantage of IGCC on controlling pollutants emission is summarized in the paper.The processes and measures about controlling pollutants emission of IGCC are discussed in detail,and the differences between IGCC and conventional PC on those are compared.The indexes of pollutants emission of IGCC are analyzed and the benefit on environment protection of IGCC is estimated in the paper.The results indicate that the pollutants emission can be controlled effectively in IGCC power station and the indexes of pollutants emission are much lower than the advanced envioronment protection criterion in the world.The products can also be saled in the market.IGCC has favourable economic benefit and social benefit.
