The oxidation of phenols with copper‐amine catalysts and its relation to the mode of action of tyrosinase IV. Relations between hydrogen peroxide and the catalytic oxidation of phenols

In a previous paper a purely descriptive report was given on the kinetics of the catalytic oxidation of phenols with oxygen under the influence of copper-morpholine complexes. Before discussing the mechanism of these reactions we thought it worth while to draw special attention to the ways in which H2O2 (a possible intermediate) may originate from and react with the catalytic systems under consideration.
