Based on empirical and theoretical research in organizations, cybernetics, biology, psychiatry, logic, and learning theory, this paper proposes a definition of revolutionary change and discusses the characteristics of such a change. This paper applies to decision making in the organization. It concludes with a discussion of the role of revolutionary change in strategic management.
