CAIDA announces DATCAT The Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) is pleased to announce the public release of DatCat: The Internet Measurement Data Catalog at imdc.datcat.org. Internet data remains one of the basic components of computer science network research. Despite its necessity, available data is limited by legal, social, and technical constraints on its collection and distribution. To maximize use of existing data, CAIDA has developed DatCat to disseminate information about datasets. DatCat was sponsored by the Advanced Networking Infrastructure program and the Office of Cyberinfrastructure at the National Science Foundation. The goals of DatCat include: • to provide a searchable index of available data • to enhance documentation of datasets via a public annotation system • to advance network science by promoting reproducible research DatCat currently indexes much of the data CAIDA has available, and we hope to complete work on a public contribution interface soon so that anyone in the community can add datasets to the catalog. To view available data, visit imdc.datcat.org. Datasets currently available include: • autonomous system (AS) topology • datasets on the Code-Red and Witty Internet Worms • packet traces from OC48 peering links of large ISPs • denial-of-service attack backscatter traffic • IPv4 path topology traces To learn more about the structure and goals of DatCat, see Upcoming deadlines of Conferences planned in cooperation with SIGCOMM: (Remember that you, as a SIG-COMM member, are eligible for the conference " member rate " even it it's an IEEE or USENIX conference.)
