급경사 운행 산악트램용 대차 기술 개발

Mountain tram adopts rack and pinion system which exerts large friction force to overcome increased running resistance on high gradient track. Proper section of traction motor is important to secure sufficient traction force in lower speed range. In this paper, in order to develop a mountain tram system, a bogie system equipped with rack and pinion traction system is introduced and its major specification is suggested. Curves for running resistance and traction force of motor are drawn to estimate the required traction force and power at each running condition and speed. In particular, to prevent excessive noise and vibration in the rack and pinion system, an assembly of wheel and axle with resilient gear is proposed. It is confirmed that the proposed bogie system can climb a mountain with gradient of more than 180‰.
