Dislocation of the proximal fibula.

Isolated dislocation of the head of the fibula is a rarely described entity that probably is much more common than is generally assumed. Illustrative examples of anterior and posterior dislocations of the proximal fibula are presented, and the salient points of recognizing the dislocation radiographically are discussed.
