GTS scheduling algorithm optimization based on IEEE802.15.4

For latency-sensitive characteristic of the real-time WSNs(wireless sensor networks) system, the typical GTS(guaranteed time slot) scheduling algorithm based on IEEE802.15.4 standard is improved and a new GTS allocation algorithm based on latency priority is proposed. In order to ensure real-time transaction and bandwidth utilization, the novel algorithm evaluates latency constraint condition and the number of allocated GTS which is based on network calculus theory, responds to GTS request orderly by priority and adjusts the number of time slots in the GTS dynamically.According to the simulation on OPNET platform, the results of experiments show the pro-posed mechanism could provide less delay and better transmission efficiency than the standard allocation method.
