Multichannel adaptive enhancement of the electrogastrogram

The electrogastric signal can be measured cutaneously on the abdomen. This is harmless to patients and volunteers. However, the poor quality of the cutaneous measurements necessitates signal enhancements. Hence, an adaptive multichannel signal enhancing system is proposed. The mu -vector least-mean-square algorithm is applied to adjust the weights of the adaptive filters in the system. A detailed description and a performance analysis of the system is given. The proposed system allows the respiratory artifact, the electrode-skin noise, some motion artifacts, and the electrocardiography to be efficiently reduced whole the characteristics of the relevant signal are less affected.<<ETX>>
