QoAS evaluation algorithms for improving QoS of 3G communications systems

Some possible applications of the time-frequency representation (TFR) of signals in the management of the quality of service of communications systems are described. After a brief review of some of the numerous available transformations, attention is particularly focused on linear transformations. The linear relationship between the signals in the time domain and the representations in the mixed time-frequency domain facilitates actions to improve QoS management. An example applied to the detection of multipath effects is given.
