EMC modelling, a method for reducing emissions: modelling PCB, cables, and connectors using the Greenfield transmission line simulator from Quantic Laboratories Inc

Greenfield is a field solver utilising boundary element method and transmission line theory for the analysis of high density material interconnect in the time domain. Solving Maxwell equations in homogenous dielectrics utilising Green's function, Greenfield is able to simulate system and subsystem signal integrity design parameters at all stages of the design process. Greenfield models the physical geometry of conductors and dielectric materials, taking into consideration material properties and frequency. Results are presented as transmission line models in the form of inductance, capacitance and resistance matrices. These models can be lossy or lossless. Nonuniform geometry is taken into consideration. Results from the field solver in the form of electrical transmission line models are transferred to Quantic's Spice compatable hybrid network analyser, Phyllis.
