Utilization of the lipids of the deep-sea grenadier: the high content of ceramide derivatives in the internal organ lipids of genus Corypaenoides

glycerol derivatives, such as triacylglycerols, the other organs contained significant levels of sphingol ipids. The lipid classes among the species of Coryphaenoides were very similar to each other. This could be explained by the fact that their physiology may be similar to each other among this genus. Consequently, the genus Coryphaenoides have consistently high levels of ceramide derivatives in their internal organs, and differ from other fish species rich in only glycerol derivatives.
