Digital modeling of the vane of aero-engine compressor for VIMS based on STEP-NC

This paper proposes the vane integrated manufacture system (VIMS) based on STEP-NC, whose mathematical basis is the vane digital model (VDM). Knot factor method (KFM) based on NURBS is put forward to acquire a precise VDM. The example shows that compared with the traditional methods, KFM is more simple and practical.
