Optimal Two-Mixer Scheduling in Dilution Engine on a Digital Microfluidic Biochip

In this paper, we propose a time-optimal scheduling scheme to implement a dilution engine on a digital micro fluidic biochip with two on-chip (1:1)-mixers. The engine produces a stream of target droplets with a desired concentration factor using only a constant number of on-chip storage elements. Simulation results on average rate of emission, input fluid requirements and wastage of fluids have been reported for several examples.
