The invention discloses a novel rotary furnace adopting microwaves as an energy resource. The novel rotary furnace comprises a kiln head which is in through connection with a rotary kettle, microwave feeding ports are arranged at multiple positions of the kiln head and used for leading an external microwave source into the rotary kettle to heat a material, the kiln head is connected with a feeding mechanism, and the rotary kettle is provided with a collection port and a discharging mechanism. The novel rotary furnace utilizes microwave energy to quickly heat the material in the rotary kettle, and the rotary kettle is rotated at the same time to enable the material to be heated more uniformly, so that pyrolysis efficiency of the material is improved, pyrolysis separating efficiency of the material can be improved substantially, and energy consumption can be lowered effectively; secondary pollution of environment after the heating energy source is burnt is avoided, so that economic benefit and social benefit are increased effectively.
