Survey on the Image Segmentation

Image segmentation is one of basic problems in image processing and computer vision,and is a key step in image processing and image analysis.Thousands of methods have been put forward to image segmentation.Some use classical methods and others use new methods.In this article,a rather complete survey to the image segmentation methods are given,and their characteristics are discussed,especially to the new methods or improvement to the classical methods which is put forward recently.
