Parametrization of features in syntax

L'A. propose un resume de sa these dans laquelle il tente de determiner quels traits peuvent etre parametrises, et comment ils peuvent etre parametrises. Il developpe pour cela une hypothese qui limite la parametrisation aux composants de surface et qui se base sur la parametrisation des traits categoriels et des traits affixes. Il suppose ainsi qu'un trait affixe, qui declenche le mouvement, peut etre attribue a un mot soit par numeration soit par derivation. Pour appuyer son hypothese, il presente trois types d'arguments : il montre comment le mouvement d'un certain element interagit avec d'autres proprietes syntaxiques dans certaines langues et pas dans d'autres ; il compare les proprietes syntaxiques de deux langues et rend compte de leurs differences en supposant qu'un certain trait affixe est present dans une langue et pas dans l'autre ; il compare les proprietes des phrasules en anglais, en chinois et en japonais et attribue les contrastes observes aux differences dans les traits categoriels [N] et [V] des noms et des adjectifs dans ces langues. Ce resume est suivi d'un compte rendu dans lequel N. Zhang souligne les points forts et les faiblesses de la these en se concentrant plus particulierement sur le trait T et sur les phrasules en chinois
