A network model of solid - liquid hydrocyclones was established by using improved BP artificial neural network method. The comprehensive design of the geometric and operating parameters of solid- liquid hydrocyclones was carried out with only inputting the physical property and the separation requirement parameters. The neural network method has remedied some defects of mathematical model, thus providing a new effective method for the optimization of the geometric and operating parameters of solid- liquid hydrocyclones.
