Application research of ground shortest path based on GIS in the Emergency Rescue Information Management System for airport airside

Aviation safety is the base for the operation of air transportation system. It plays a significant role in maneuvering accidents quickly and efficiently. In this paper, the network of airport on the airside was analyzed from the aspect of aviation safety; then a nodes-arcs relation database was built to describe the airside network topology and the Dijkstra algorithm was employed to search the shortest path between the nodes. At last, MapX and a GIS re-developing tool were used to carry out the Emergency Rescue Information Management System development for a domestic large-scale airport under the Visual Basic environment. This system can provide supports for visual and convenient decision-making in airport emergency rescue events; and also expand MapX's spatial analyzing ability to develop an applied GIS system.
